Capital Market for long term fund where securities maturity of which is over one year is   
Traded. Security includes- shares, debentures, bonds etc. There are two segments of capital market viz. primary market and secondary market. 
Firstly 28 April, 1954 the East Pakistan Stock Exchange Association Ltd. was established and began formal trading 1956.It was renamed as East Pakistan Stock Exchange Ltd. in 13 may 1962, again renamed as Dacca Stock Exchange.
After the Liberation War in 1971 the trading was suspended, in 16 September 1986 was again started. Security and Exchange Commission of Bangladesh (SEC) Established in 8th June 1993 under the Securities and Exchange Commission Act, 1993.
Secondly December 1995 was established Chittagong Stock Exchange(CSE).
Now Dhaka Stock Exchange is a public limited company.
